L.B. Deverell
Hi, my name is L.B. Deverell and I play guitar, some mandolin and sing a little with Glowb. When I joined this band I was the new guy. I was also going through a transitional phase of my life. I credit this motley bunch(band and audience alike)for my salvation.
I am still discovering who my influences are but they go something like this: Mick Mars, Kenny Burrell, Frank Zappa, Eddie Hazel, Iron Maiden, Sly Stone, Grant Green and Randy Rhoades to name a few.
My rig is pretty simple, a Peavey Classic 30 with ruby tubes, an Electroharmonix Q-tron and/or Jim Dunlop 535q, and a PRS Tremonti SE.
How did I end up here? Well, my dad started playing music for me before I was even born, and then as I grew up he taught my sister and I guitar. He always had numerous instruments around the house and none of them were off limits to us kids. My mom doesn't play any instruments but she can sing better than she knows! It is from her I learned to have a sense of humor. She used to sing: "Watch out where the huskies go - don't you eat that yellow snow", while she was dressing me to go sledding. When my sister, who's four years younger than me, started playing guitar it was about the same time that I started playing. She had a lot more self discipline and was getting better, faster. I think that's when I really started to work at my music.
Now I'm married to the greatest women I've ever known and raising two boys and a little girl. They are my life and my drive to succeed.
